Arnhem Land Flyfishing in Arnhem Land

 

Located on the far north coast of Australias Northern Territory, Arnhemland is the largest and most remote Aboriginal land reserve in the country.

Arnhem Land is held under the unique title of inalienable Aboriginal freehold land and was declared in the 1930s. The area has been occupied by indegenous people for tens of thousands of years.

 

The climate of Arnhem Land is tropical monsoon with a wet and dry season. Temperatures do not fluctuate widely throughout the year, though it can range from overnight lows of 15 degrees Celsius in the dry season (April to September) to daily highs of 33 degrees Celsius in the wet season (October to March).
