Darwin is the Capital of the Northern Territory and one doesn't have to go far to find the fish.
The state is 1.3 million sq km and only constitutes 1% of the total population of Australia. Nearly half of all the land in the NT is owned by Indigenous Australians and gaining access to remote fishing locations often requires obtaining an access permit.

The temperature remains constantly warm throughout the year however as with the rest of the 'top-end', there is a wet and dry season with the wet running from December to March and dry from May to October.
The NT has a very healthy polulation of saltwater crocodiles that inhabit a lot of the waterways, beaches, bays and anywhere else you wouldn't expect to find them. These animals are extremely dangerous and caution should be taken when fly fishing in the NT.
