Port Maquarie is known for it's great estuary, beach and rock fishing but there is also very good blue-water game fishing not far off shore.
Summer is excellent for many species of offshore pelagics. Late winter into spring is hot for Mako. |

The Hastings River provides all the usual New South Wales estuary suspects, including some large tailor at the mouth during winter. On the Hastings upstream of the confluence with the Maria river in deeper water is prime habitat for mulloway. Channels and dropoffs in Limeburners Creek produce very good flathead and bream. |

Offshore is excellent fishing for a wide variety of species. Caution needs to be excerised at Port Maquarie entrance during runout tides and strong north / earterlies.
